Birkenstock Opens UAE-Localized Store at Mall of the Emirates

That distinction matters: Apparel Group already lists multiple Birkenstock stores across the UAE, including at Mall of the Emirates, while the new opening introduces a localized store format rather than the brand’s first entry into the market.

A Store Design Built Around UAE References The interior uses sandy tones and textured walls inspired by desert dunes. A mashrabiya reference is reworked with Birkenstock’s footbed pattern, while Arabic calligraphy by Emirati artist Fatima Alketbi creates a focal point above the product displays.

Mirrors draw on the silhouette of traditional dhow sails, with Al Sadu carpets and greenery intended to evoke a desert oasis. The result places familiar Birkenstock products and merchandising within a setting that is specific to Dubai rather than relying on a uniform global store template…
