Massimo Dutti opens its new Rome flagship on October 10, bringing fashion, historical architecture and Italian cultural collaborations together inside Palazzo Ruspoli. To celebrate the opening, the brand hosted an exclusive private fashion show on October 8 at 4:40 PM, presenting its new Limited Edition Fall/Winter 2026 collection as part of the flagship celebrations. Spanning more than 2,000 square meters at Via del Corso 418, Rome, the store pairs the brand’s Woman and Man collections with fragrance experiences, a curated library and personalized shopping services.

The opening builds on the approach seen at its first Copenhagen store, where local partnerships helped introduce the brand to the city. In Rome, a palazzo dating to the 16th century becomes the starting point for an experience that extends from the collection rooms into the surrounding neighborhood.

A Historic Palazzo Reimagined for Retail

A monumental staircase leads visitors into a sequence of arches and vaulted rooms. The restoration drew on a heritage study and specialized artisans to preserve original elements, while wood, rugs in generous sizes and understated furniture introduce a contemporary setting for the collections.

Lightweight displays leave much of the architecture visible, and indirect lighting traces the vaults. Tall bookshelves frame the checkout area, bringing the literary thread into the store’s everyday design.

Rather than treating the building as a backdrop, the layout makes its scale and architectural details part of the shopping journey. The result connects Massimo Dutti’s presentation of its collections to a setting with an established place in Roman cultural life.

Fragrance and Books Shape the Opening Experience

For the first nine days, The Olfactory Archive, developed with Florentine perfumery house Profumoir, will offer a guided exploration of the notes behind Massimo Dutti’s fragrances. Master perfumers will lead the experience, with exclusive glass pieces shaped over a flame by Barcelona artist Pia Glasswork serving as holders for olfactory sampling.

Roman independent bookstore Leporello Books has curated nearly 100 titles spanning art, architecture, design, fashion and contemporary culture. Its founder selected 20 personal favorites, adding handwritten reflections explaining each choice.

The opening program also reaches beyond Palazzo Ruspoli. Caffè Doria will serve coffee at the flagship on opening day, while its own courtyard at Palazzo Doria Pamphilj hosts a Massimo Dutti activation from October 9 to 11.

Meanwhile, Apartamento has created an illustrated postcard guide featuring 21 Roman addresses, organized around three recommendations for each day of the week. Together, these collaborations give visitors ways to explore the city through the opening, rather than confining the experience to the shop floor.

Limited Edition Fall/Winter 2026 Anchors the Opening

The opening coincides with the debut of Limited Edition Fall/Winter 2026, with tailoring at the center of the collection. Long coats and structured jackets sit alongside generously proportioned trousers and fluid dresses, while high collars and layered lengths explore the relationship between structure and movement.

Leather, fine knitwear and sheer fabrics appear in a palette led by black and chocolate, complemented by gray, taupe, camel and stone. The collection sits within the first floor’s complete Woman and Man offering, arranged across rooms with distinct identities.

The brand describes material quality and precision cutting as the collection’s core priorities. Elongated lines and relaxed proportions reinterpret traditional tailoring, with pieces conceived to have a sense of permanence.

Within Palazzo Ruspoli, this emphasis on construction connects the collection to rooms where historic finishes and contemporary displays remain visible alongside the clothes.

Personalized Services Support the Visit

A Concierge service allows purchases to be held for later collection or delivered to a hotel, home or specified address. Staff use mobile devices through Shopper to check inventory, manage reservations and complete purchases throughout the store.

According to the brand, Shop & Go Express offers delivery in under four hours, while Fast SINT prepares online orders for store pickup in under two hours. Style Advisor appointments can be booked through Massimo Dutti’s app and website.

The flagship also incorporates LED lighting that regulates itself, advanced climate control and Inditex’s Inergy monitoring platform. Together, the cultural program, restored architecture and service offering show how Massimo Dutti is developing its flagship format around both a distinctive sense of place and the practical needs of the shopper.
