CHAGEE Opens Two Bali Teahouses With Designs Shaped by Ubud and Sanur

CM Phang, CHAGEE’s head of design for Asia-Pacific, described the two projects in a September 30 recap and credited TA.LE Architects and the wider project team. The common brief was to make each teahouse feel connected to its location, rather than repeat the same environment in two settings.

A Slower Arrival in Ubud The Ubud site uses a walk alongside an aged Balinese brick boundary wall to create a transition from the busy street. Phang described the route as part of the customer’s arrival, with the approach changing the pace before the tea experience begins.

Across two storeys, generous upper-floor windows look towards greenery and frame a ceremonial courtyard. The released photographs show planting, timber-toned surfaces and seating positioned around the building’s openings, bringing the landscape into the interior experience.
