Arc’teryx Turns Sydney’s 130 Year Old QVB Into a Mountain Community Gathering

Arc’teryx marked the opening of its first Australian Alpha Store with an after-hours gathering inside Sydney’s historic Queen Victoria Building. The event brought guests from the newly opened boutique to the Grand Copper Dome, connecting the brand’s mountain performance heritage with one of the city’s most recognisable architectural landmarks.

Opened on May 22, the QVB flagship is the first Arc’teryx Alpha Store in Australia and the largest Arc’teryx store in the Southern Hemisphere. The multi-level destination brings together technical outdoor equipment, Veilance, community programming and a ReBIRD Service Centre focused on repair and gear longevity.

A Mountain Brand in a City Landmark The Arc’teryx QVB opening placed a technical outdoor brand within a 130-year-old Sydney landmark.

The setting created a contrast between the QVB’s Victorian architecture and Arc’teryx’s performance-led design language, while also revealing a shared focus on durable construction, detailed craftsmanship and lasting design.
