Ferragamo unveiled the Floating Silk Garden installation at its women’s boutique in Milan during Salone del Mobile 2026, running from April 18 to 26, 2026. The immersive installation transforms vibrant silk foulards into floating petals that drift through space, creating a dynamic sensory experience celebrating the house’s heritage in textile design.

Installation Design

The Floating Silk Garden converts the retail space into an artistic environment where silk scarves and cushions are suspended at varying heights, creating a three dimensional effect that evokes lightness and movement. Shop windows are transformed into settings where silk scarves featuring exclusive prints and a vibrant color palette appear to float in the air, reinforcing silk as a central element of Ferragamo’s identity. The installation creates an elegant swirl of hues and motion that captures the sensation of weightlessness.

Pre Fall 2026 Collection

Two prints from the Silk Pre Fall 2026 collection anchor the installation. The first print establishes a dialogue between floral forms and shoe silhouettes, capturing Ferragamo’s timeless bond with floral design through shoes reflected in blooming forms. The second reinterprets archive motifs in a spiral composition, where orchids, wisteria, lilies, and dahlias unfold in a range of warm tones.

Design Heritage

The installation integrates botanical motifs, flowers, leaves, and petals, with references to Ferragamo’s archive, recreating shoe silhouettes and the Gancini symbol. This visual language articulates where nature and heritage converge, reflecting creative director Maximilian Davis’s approach to weaving together the brand’s Hollywood roots with Caribbean influences and Italian style. The Pre Fall 2026 collection blends Italian everyday elegance with 1920s glamour in sophisticated garments, iconic accessories, and exclusive footwear.

Milan Design Week Context

The installation was part of Salone del Mobile 2026, which took place from April 21 to 26 at Rho Fiera Milano. Ferragamo’s activation occurred during the broader Milan Design Week, which featured highlights ranging from protest fabrics to secret gardens. The Floating Silk Garden represents a concept combining heritage, design, and spatial experimentation within the context of the leading international design event.
