JD Sports Malaysia Celebrates 10 Years at Sunway Pyramid With JD Frequency
A decade of connecting with its community, championing sneaker and streetwear culture, and creating memorable retail experiences deserves a celebration on a major scale. JD Sports Malaysia is marking 10 years in the market with JD Frequency, a five day pop up experience at Sunway Pyramid Mall, where the brand opened its first Malaysian flagship in 2016.
The choice of Sunway Pyramid is meaningful. It was here that JD Sports first introduced its retail proposition to Malaysia, bringing global sports fashion brands, exclusive sneakers and streetwear to a new generation of customers. Over the past decade, the retailer has expanded to 23 stores nationwide, with plans for further openings as it strengthens Malaysia’s role as its regional hub in Southeast Asia.
At JD Frequency, the anniversary becomes more than a retrospective. Exclusive product showcases, limited releases, brand activations and product personalisation give sneaker fans reasons to stay, explore and connect.…
The event also includes interactive consumer experiences, giveaways and challenges, creating a space where the energy of the sneaker community can play out beyond a standard store visit. Music is central to the celebration.
Live performances by local and regional talent bring together style, sport, youth culture and sound, reinforcing the cultural world that has helped define JD Sports Malaysia over the past 10 years.
The pop up puts brands such as Nike, adidas, New Balance and Puma into the same conversation as community, entertainment and individual expression.
For the retailer, JD Frequency is the opening chapter of a year long anniversary programme, with more exclusive releases, consumer rewards and connected shopping experiences set to follow.
