Montblanc Turns Salone Dei Tessuti Into a Century of Leather Storytelling
MONTBLANC marked 100 years of leather goods with an immersive Spring/Summer 2027 presentation at Salone dei Tessuti during Milan Men’s Fashion Week, unveiling new leather lines that connect the Maison’s writing heritage with contemporary travel and desk life. From oversized installations to live craftsmanship, the showroom celebrated a journey that began in 1926, when the brand’s first pen pouches were created for ambitious travellers carrying their pens across lands and seas.
A century of leather, reimagined in Milan
MONTBLANC’s leather story started in 1926, at a time when writing instruments left the desk and became essential travel companions. Pen pouches were the Maison’s first leather pieces, designed to protect prized pens on journeys near and far. Under the creative direction of Marco Tomasetta, that functional heritage has evolved into a complete ecosystem of bags, small leather goods and desk objects that merge writing culture with leather expertise.

Salone dei Tessuti was transformed into an experiential space, staging installations, live demonstrations and curated product universes that traced 100 years of MONTBLANC leather goods while previewing the season’s new silhouettes.
The Writing Traveler and the Tree of Writing The visual highlight of the showroom was the oversized Writing Traveler installation: a playful, exaggerated expression of MONTBLANC’s hero briefcase.
Inspired by a “cabinet of curiosities,” this piece blended the creative spirit of the desk with the precision of leather craftsmanship.
