Nordstrom and MOHAI Exhibit Honour 125 Years with Hundreds of Archives

Last month, Nordstrom celebrated the opening of a retrospective exhibit honouring 125 years of style and service. Hosted in collaboration with the Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI), the exhibition brings the retailer’s legacy to life through hundreds of archival objects, photographs, and stories drawn from both company records and the local community.

The exhibit unfolds across four floors, each rooted in a different chapter of the Nordstrom story. It begins with shoes, reflecting the company’s origins as a small Seattle storefront selling footwear. From that foundation, visitors move through decades of evolving style, merchandising and store design, seeing how the assortment grew from shoes into full fashion and lifestyle offerings while still keeping service at the core.
