Prada Builds Spring/Summer 2027 Around the Skirt as a Design System

Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons kept a graphic skirt silhouette as the collection’s fixed point, then changed the materials, construction and styling around it to test how many forms the same idea can take.

In Prada Group’s official show notes, the house calls the theme “The Skirt.” Its approach is specific: contrasting Velcro serves as a fastening and a base for crystal embroidery, allowing skirts to shift shape or reveal decoration.

Metal snap fasteners become jeweled details, while crinoline moves from hidden structure to a visible layer. Variation inside a fixed silhouette The collection applies techniques associated with very different product categories to the same form.
