A Pea in the Pod, a renowned maternity brand, has made a triumphant return to brick-and-mortar retail with the opening of two concept stores in Chicago and New York City in December 2021. This marks a significant milestone for the company, which had previously closed all its physical locations following the bankruptcy of its parent company, Destination Maternity, in October 2019.

The new stores are part of A Pea in the Pod’s strategic plan to re-establish its presence in the physical retail space while continuing to offer a robust digital shopping experience for expecting mothers. The Chicago store is located at 835 N Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611. These concept stores will not only feature A Pea in the Pod products but also styles from its sister brand, Motherhood Maternity. Customers can expect complimentary bra fittings and style advice, as well as an assortment of maternity and nursing styles from designer labels such as AG, 7 for All Mankind, and Articles of Society.

Marla Ryan, executive vice president of A Pea in the Pod and Motherhood Maternity, emphasized the importance of providing a unique shopping experience for their customers, especially as their bodies change throughout pregnancy and post-partum. The company plans to open a handful of other stores across the U.S., further expanding its reach and catering to the needs of expecting mothers.
