Meta introduced Muse on September 8 as a personal agent that can help people act across connected services. Shopify’s announcement gives that broader launch a specific commerce dimension: a route from a shopper’s request to catalog discovery and checkout. For merchants, the strategic development is distribution.

A product catalog can be encountered through an assistant-led conversation as well as through a retailer’s own storefront. Clear product information becomes part of how an item can be matched to a request, while checkout determines whether that discovery can lead directly to an order.

The integration also separates two parts of the experience that are often discussed together: being found and completing a purchase. Shopify is positioning its catalog and payment infrastructure across both, with the wallet feature identified as the next addition.
