Marks & Spencer’s adjusted pretax profit more than doubled to £403.2 million in the half-year ended September 26, 2026, but remained below the £413.1 million earned two years earlier. In its November 4 results, M&S attributed the gap to heavier first-half cost growth and weaker Fashion, Home & Beauty profitability.
