Adidas Turns Mexico City Marathon Week Into a Community Running Hub

adidas brought its Fuel Station to Mexico City Marathon week, creating a three day meeting point for runners, supporters and local communities. The activation expanded the brand’s role beyond race sponsorship by combining hydration, recovery, product trial, official merchandise and community led programming around the 2026 Mexico City Marathon.

Set at Avenida Insurgentes Sur 296 in Roma Norte, close to kilometre 10 of the marathon route, the Fuel Station was built around the idea that “Fuel Is Shared.” The concept treated race preparation, encouragement and recovery as collective experiences rather than individual ones.

A Three-Day Community Space The adidas Fuel Station operated from August 28 to 30, serving different audiences across the marathon weekend. Its programme was designed for runners in the final days before the race, as well as friends, family members and spectators who wanted to participate in the event atmosphere.

The first day opened with a Morning Social Run at 6 a.m. The run gave members of local running communities, invited partners, media and adidas guests an opportunity to connect before marathon day.

The Friday programme continued with an afternoon gathering that used music and social activity to bring runners together after training.
