Dunhill’s Immersive Ginza Exhibition Is Connecting Alfred’s Motoring Roots to Contemporary Leather Design

dunhill is celebrating more than 130 years of British craftsmanship with a new immersive exhibition inside its Ginza flagship in Tokyo, launched in tandem with the brand’s Heritage in Motion campaign. Running from 27 May to 28 June, the exhibition traces the House’s leather‑goods story from Alfred Dunhill’s early Motorities driving luggage to today’s refined leather pieces, placing motoring heritage and contemporary design side by side in one curated narrative.

Heritage in Motion in the heart of Ginza

Hosted within dunhill’s Ginza flagship, the exhibition is conceived as a Heritage in Motion showcase that highlights the savoir‑faire defining the House since its founding in 1893 as a London saddlery supplying equipment to motorists. Archival pieces including trunks, driving jackets and the Tweenie Car, a historic motoring symbol set the tone, evoking the early days when Alfred Dunhill’s “Motorities” brand specialised in accessories for men behind the wheel.
