TikTok Unveils Global AI Editing Tools for 18 Million US Creators

TikTok used its U.S. Creator Summit to announce a suite of innovative, AI-powered creator tools, most notably Smart Split and AI Outline, designed to streamline short-form video production, expand monetization, and empower the next era of digital creativity. These features are hitting the platform as TikTok doubles down on its mission to help users create, discover, and connect around original content with increased speed, accessibility, and creative depth.

Making Long-Form Content “TikTok-Ready” Smart Split is an advanced video editing tool available globally via TikTok Studio Web.

It allows users to upload videos longer than one minute and—using AI—automatically clips, reframes, captions, and transcribes longer content into multiple, bite-sized short videos optimized for TikTok’s feed.
