Versace has opened a new boutique in the V&A Waterfront’s dedicated luxury wing in Cape Town, adding another global name to what is fast becoming South Africa’s flagship high end retail destination. The store, which launched in April 2026, brings the full drama of the Versace universe to the city’s waterfront, framed by marble, bold metal detailing and the brand’s iconic motifs.
Versace arrives in V&A’s new luxury wing
The new Versace boutique sits within the V&A Waterfront’s recently developed luxury wing, part of a R207 million expansion that is tripling the mall’s high end retail space to nearly 4,000 square meters. This wing is being curated as a one stop luxury corridor, bringing together brands such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry, MaXhosa Africa and Versace in a single, consolidated zone.
According to the V&A’s development plans, the luxury wing is opening in phases between late 2025…
and Easter 2026, with Versace among the early headline names to debut in the new space. The store is located at 6 Dock Road, V&A Waterfront, Shop 6264B, Upper Level, Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre, Cape Town, Western Cape, 8001, South Africa, placing it at the heart of the precinct’s premium fashion circuit.
Store design: “one beautiful beauty” Launch coverage invites customers to “step into the world of Versace,” emphasizing that the interior “reflects the essence of the brand.” Images and descriptions highlight glossy stone floors, luminous surfaces and strong geometric lines that create a stage like setting for ready to wear, accessories and shoes.
Gold accents and sculptural fixtures echo Versace’s signature opulence, while clean walls and open sightlines give the merchandise visual space, keeping the focus on bold prints, hardware and color.
The result is a boutique that feels in sync with other Versace flagships worldwide but tailored to the scale and flow of the V&A Waterfront’s new luxury environment…
