WSG Acquires Sanctuary as Li & Fung Anchors Its Women’s Ready-to-Wear Business

Founders Stay Involved Founded in 1997, Sanctuary will retain founders Ken and Debra Polanco in the operating business, with continued involvement in creative direction and product strategy. WSG said the label will keep its distinct identity.

International Markets and New Categories WSG’s priorities span the UK, Europe, the GCC/Middle East and Asia. Its proposed routes to market include licensing, distribution, retail, digital commerce and local partnerships. Men’s, children’s and home products are also planned, rather than already launched.

The structure separates brand ownership from the anchor licensee’s role in the established apparel business. For Sanctuary, the next test is translating those resources into broader distribution without weakening its existing womenswear proposition.

WSG CEO Jack Cheika said the aim is to “build upon” the brand’s existing strengths.
