The world-renowned retail giant, Walmart has come a long way since its inception in 1962, when Sam Walton opened the first store in Rogers, Arkansas. Over the years, the company has grown exponentially, becoming the largest retailer in the United States by 1990. Walmart’s success can be attributed to its emphasis on customer attention, cost controls, and efficient distribution networks.
On March 20 2023, Walmart launched an exciting beauty brand accelerator program called Walmart Start. This program aims to give emerging beauty brands a chance to launch their products at Walmart stores, providing them with resources and support to ensure a successful launch. The selected brands will have the potential opportunity to be launched at Walmart between December 2023 and March 2024, although the exact launch dates are subject to change at Walmart’s discretion.

with current or prior in-store modular placement at Walmart will not be considered for participation. The program offers various benefits to the selected brands, including education, brand activation, mentorship, and networking opportunities.

The finalist brands being considered for Walmart Start will be invited to participate in virtual beauty merchant meetings in June 2023, and the selected brands for Walmart Start will be announced by July 2023.
