H&M has named ELIE SAAB as its next designer collaborator, with a collection centered on embellished gowns, shimmering separates and sharply tailored pieces. The retailer confirmed an October 22 launch in its own comment beneath the September 3 announcement, putting couture-influenced occasionwear at the center of its next designer release.

H&M describes the collection as an expression of ELIE SAAB’s contemporary design vision. Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s creative advisor and head of womenswear design, framed the offer around ornament and glamour—an indication that the collaboration will be led by recognizable house signatures rather than everyday basics.

A Familiar Platform With a Different Design Proposition The announcement extends an established H&M strategy: inviting a designer to translate a distinctive creative identity into a collection for the retailer’s customers. Earlier this year, Stella McCartney returned to the program, 21 years after her first H&M collaboration.

ELIE SAAB presents a different merchandising opportunity. Gowns, embellished separates and tailoring give H&M a specific occasion-led story to build around.
