Tommy Hilfiger Receives the 2026 Argetsinger Award for His Motorsports Contributions

The International Motor Racing Research Center scheduled its annual award gala for October 15 at the Corning Museum of Glass in New York. The brand’s subsequent recap confirms the honour and shows a retrospective of apparel and racing relationships at the event.

The IMRRC announcement traces partnerships with Team Lotus, Ferrari and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS, as well as five collections with Lewis Hamilton. It also identifies Tommy Hilfiger as the official apparel partner of the Cadillac Formula 1 team through a multi-year agreement. The award makes that history the centre of the story.

Rather than a single race-weekend appearance, it recognises a long-running connection between the designer and a sport that supplies team identities, apparel requirements and cultural visibility. The gala retrospective brought those different periods together.

Cadillac is the current expression of the partnership model, following earlier team relationships that helped establish motorsport as a recurring part of Tommy Hilfiger’s brand identity.
