Abercrombie & Fitch Co. Gave Its Class of 2026 Interns a Summer of Retail Learning in Columbus

The experience began with orientation, giving interns the opportunity to meet peers across different functions and gain a stronger understanding of the company’s brands, values and ways of working.

Orientation is an important first step in a corporate internship programme because it helps participants feel connected before they begin working with their individual teams. It also creates a foundation for the relationships that shape the rest of the summer.

Teamwork became a major focus through a visit to Activate Games, an interactive gaming experience that combines physical challenges, technology and problem solving. The activity gave interns a chance to work together outside the office, using communication and quick decision-making to complete different tasks.

Experiences such as this can help new teams develop confidence and trust in a more relaxed setting. Community impact was also part of the summer.
