Amazon Introduces GenAI to generate product descriptions

Amazon has been at the forefront of integrating generative AI (GenAI) into various aspects of its e-commerce platform, enhancing both the seller and customer experience. The company’s innovative use of GenAI technology allows sellers to create more engaging and effective product listings with ease.

In a 2022 Kaltura report, 25% of marketers report using AI to create product descriptions. By simply providing a few words or an image of their product, sellers can receive GenAI-generated product titles, descriptions, and additional attributes that are automatically optimized for search results.

The introduction of GenAI by Amazon represents a significant advancement in e-commerce, as it simplifies the task of generating high-quality content for product listings.

Sellers can now rely on Amazon’s GenAI feature to assist them in crafting compelling titles, bullet points, and descriptions based on a draft script, which they can then edit or accept as is. This approach reduces the effort required from selling partners while simultaneously elevating the quality of product pages.
