Target is a U.S. general merchandise retailer headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Its first Target store opened in Roseville, Minnesota, in 1962. The company sells apparel, beauty, home, food and everyday essentials through stores and digital channels. Target reports more than 2,000 U.S. stores, over 400,000 team members and approximately $105 billion in fiscal 2025 net sales. Its portfolio also includes Shipt and retail media business Roundel. Target Australia is a separate, unrelated company.
