Meet co-founders of Seventh Rebel, Ivy Zion and Joan Gamboa
Ivy Zion is the co-founder of an experience-based beauty company called Seventh Rebel. She is a first generation Vietnamese immigrant who moved here in the US during her teen years where she met her partner, Joan, in high school. After graduating from California State University Fullerton, she’s been working in the insurance industry during the day and work on bringing Seventh Rebel to life at night.
Joan Gamboa is the co-founder of an experience-based beauty company called Seventh Rebel. She is a first generation Filipino immigrant who moved here in the US and works as an Accountant after graduating from California State University Long Beach.
Even though Joan and I grew up from two different countries, we still shared the same hobbies— watching dubbed anime, watching Britney…
Spears music videos, Doraemon, and reminiscing about old school K-dramas. There were many challenges assimilating in a brand new country— making new friends, learning the culture, and navigating our careers and entrepreneurship by ourselves with no experience.
During these difficult times, we would reminisce about our childhood and all the cute snacks and drinks we ate which we realize brought us great comfort and joy. We became obsessed about packaging, experiences, and branding and realized that there was something we could bring to the beauty industry— Seventh Rebel.

Seventh Rebel is on a mission to encourage people to enjoy the little things because we believe it’s the little things in life that make us happy…
