Primark Opens First Minnesota Store as Its US Footprint Reaches 46 Locations

Primark opened its first Minnesota store at Mall of America in Bloomington on September 3, 2026, adding nearly 35,000 square feet of selling space and bringing its U.S. network to 46 stores. The debut extends the retailer’s Midwest presence through a destination that serves local shoppers alongside visitors from farther afield.

A Regional First for a Global Retailer According to Primark’s opening announcement, the Minnesota launch coincided with the brand passing 500 stores worldwide. Kevin Tulip, president of Primark US, positioned the opening around introducing the retailer’s value proposition to both residents and visitors.

The property’s role in that introduction was established before opening day. In its September 2025 leasing announcement, Mall of America described Primark as a first-to-market addition, with an assortment spanning women’s, men’s and children’s clothing, home and beauty.

Carrie Charleston, the mall’s vice president and head of leasing, placed the signing within its strategy of combining international brands with regional debuts. Local Relevance Beyond the Storefront Mall of America reported a ribbon cutting and a grand opening celebration that extended into its Huntington Bank Rotunda.

The Primark Fashion Fair drew on the Minnesota State Fair, bringing fashion shows, fair-themed games, prizes and treats into the launch. The mall described the opening as the result of months of planning and collaboration between the two teams. The assortment also included a local connection:…
