Burberry Turns a Taipei Cocktail Bar Into a British Summer Club Through August 30th
Burberry is bringing a taste of British summer to Taipei through a limited time takeover of Draft Land, the city’s popular neighbourhood cocktail bar. The space has been transformed into a Summer Club that combines the heritage of the British House with the energy of Taipei’s growing chess community, social culture and street style.
Located in the Xinyi District, the activation turns a familiar city bar into a new kind of luxury brand experience. Instead of creating a traditional retail pop-up, Burberry has chosen a setting built around conversation, cocktails and community. The result is a social space where guests can relax, meet friends, play chess and encounter the House’s visual codes in a more unexpected environment.

outdoor benches and branded chessboards. The House Check appears across the space, giving the bar an immediate connection to the brand while allowing the setting to retain the relaxed character of a neighbourhood venue. The design draws on the idea of an English summer garden.
Outdoor seating has been styled with British garden benches, creating a setting that feels more like a London park or country garden than a city-centre cocktail bar. The benches invite visitors to slow down, sit with friends and enjoy the atmosphere, while the chessboards add an interactive element to the space.
Chess is a central part of the Summer Club concept. The game has gained visibility among younger communities in Taipei, where it has become a social activity as well as a competitive pursuit.
